Chevy Debuts Two New Concept Trucks

Chevy Debuts Two New Concept Trucks

BAY CITY, Mich.- At this year's State Fair of Texas, Chevrolet explored the extremes of preparedness with two new concept trucks dedicated to volunteer first responders and ultimate survival. Chevy debuted two new concept trucks, the Volunteer Firefighter and the Black Ops Concept, both of which are based on the 2014 Silverado full-size pickup.

With input from the National Volunteer Fire Council, Chevy used the 2014 Silverado full-size pickup to develop the Silverado Z71 Volunteer Firefighter concept truck to honor the service of first responders. To accommodate a complete supply of rescue equipment, Chevrolet utilized the new Silverado Double Cab and added the Z71 Off Road suspension.

The other concept truck to make its debut, the Black Ops truck, was developed with ultimate survival in mind. Built on the Silverado Crew Cab 4x4, the truck's strength, performance, and safety are all improved to turn a wasteland into an oasis. The sinister-looking concept comes equipped with custom-fabricated lower body armor, a lockable, bed-mounted Truck Vault storage unit, solar power pack, pair of gas masks, gloves, military first aid kit, folding shovel and rope.
