Custom Chevrolet Camaro Featured In DreamWorks Animation's 'Turbo'

BAY CITY, Mich.- DreamWorks' latest animation highlights an engine revving collaboration with Chevrolet to help power a little snail named Turbo. The feature film that bears the little snail's name features a custom Chevy Camaro as well as Chevrolet-powered Indy cars! It goes without saying that the automaker is excited about the collaboration and the Custom Chevrolet Camaro featured in DreamWorks Animation's 'Turbo'!

In fact, Chevy is so excited about the alliance that they have created a special real-life replica of the custom Camaro featured in the film. And in order to enhance the film's authentic racing environment, Chevy consulted with DreamWorks on the design of the animated vehicles.

In the one of the summer's most anticipated films, Chevy plays an integral role in two of the film's key moments. First, the custom Chevy Camaro shines on the big screen during an encounter with Turbo, after which the little snail receives his speed. Then, later in the film, the classic Chevrolet "bow-tie" logo is featured in the scenes set at the Indianapolis 500. Paralleling the movie, the Chevy bow-tie was prominently featured at the Indy 500 last weekend!

In a film about a slow snail who dreams of being fast, the custom Chevrolet Camaro featured in DreamWorks Animation's 'Turbo' gives the film's hero his first taste of high-speed driving on the open road. To experience the custom Camaro replica in real life, look out for the muscle car's appearance at auto shows and events across the U.S.

BAY CITY, Mich.- Memorial Day is behind us and the sun is starting to shine just a little more each day, which means the official start of summer is just around the corner! As the weather invites us outside, firing up the barbecue for dinner becomes second nature. Make sure your summer is easy-breezy and accident free with these BBQ Grill Safety Tips For Summer!

BBQ Grill Safety Tips For Summer
-Only use BBQ grills outdoors, whether they are propane or charcoal.

-Make sure your grill is placed well away from your home and deck railings, and make sure it isn't located under eaves or overhanging branches.

-Keep kids and pets away from the grill area, and never leave the grill unattended.

-A dirty grill can be hazardous, so make sure to keep your grill clean by removing grease and fat buildup.

-Charcoal and propane grills each pose their own hazards so always operate your barbecue with caution, especially the first time you use it each season. Specifically with propane grills, be aware of gas leaks to prevent a fire or accident.

Summer is upon us and June and July are the peak months for grill fires. So keep these BBQ Grill Safety Tips in mind to make sure your summer is one to remember, for all the right reasons!

2014 Impala, Chevrolet's Fastest Selling Vehicle

2014 Impala, Chevrolet's Fastest Selling Vehicle
BAY CITY, Mich.- The much anticipated arrival of the all new 2014 Chevrolet Impala had many wondering whether the vehicle would break out of its rental car stereotype. It's safe to say it has definitely broke the mold with its new design and updated features. Making its first debut in dealerships just over a month ago, the 2014 Chevy Impala has quickly proved to be Chevrolet's fastest selling vehicle!

According the Chevy's marketing vice president, Chris Perry, the fastest selling vehicle in Chevrolet's line up is the 2014 Impala, with an average selling rate of just seven days! The first cars to arrive in dealerships featured a 3.6-liter engine, and this month the 2.5-liter engines have started to arrive too. Perry also announced that, following the first classical TV spot set to Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me To The Moon," the automaker has launched a new commercial for the Impala that features the next generation MyLink infotainment system.

Starting at just $27,535, the 2014 Chevy Impala offers three direct-injection engines and can achieve up to 35 mpg on the highway! For more information, check out our 2014 Chevy Impala Preview or come take one for a spin at your Bay City Area Chevrolet Dealership! 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Passive Vehicle Entry

2013 Chevrolet Malibu Passive Vehicle Entry
BAY CITY, Mich.- With the advanced vehicle technology available today, convenience is at our fingertips and our vehicles are making life a little bit easier. We've all had that moment when our arms are full, and searching for keys in the bottom of a purse or trying to get them out of our pocket becomes the most difficult task. But with the 2013 Chevy Malibu's Four-Door Passive Vehicle Entry, you no longer have to search for your keys to open the car door!

Available on the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ, the four-door passive vehicle entry technology places small buttons on each door and allows the driver to unlock the door with one press of the button, or open all four doors and the trunk with two presses. How does it work? The vehicle verifies that the proper key fob is within the acceptable 3-foot range using the Malibu's closed-loop wireless communication system to allow the driver to unlock the door with the touch of a button. Since each vehicle has a unique key fob, there is virtually zero chance of a false unlock.

Chevy considered developing the feature so it would automatically unlock the door upon approaching the vehicle, but ultimately decided that the push-button option offered better functionality, keeping the driver in full control of the vehicle.

To learn more about all the the Malibu has to offer, take a look at our 2013 Chevy Malibu Brochure. Or, stop by our dealership to browse all of our New Chevrolet Cars like the Malibu LTZ and to learn more about our Guaranteed Financing! Mother's Day Blog...How I balance family and career

BAY CITY, Mich.- As a mother and business owner, I am writing this blog with respect to all the mothers in today’s world to reveal my thoughts, feelings and how I balance family, work, health and fun. While I know we all lead different lifestyles and are at different points in our lives, I wanted to put this out there with the hope that I may be able to help someone in some way.
A short background I am a mother of 3 children ages 17, 15 and 10; two older boys and the youngest is a girl. I have been married for close to 20 years and have been in the workforce for 30 years, with 25 of them at the dealership. But to give you an example of the direction of my motivation, I didn’t spend a long time away from work even when my children were young. We have two biological sons and we adopted our daughter when she 10 months old. I was away from work the longest when we adopted our daughter, which was two weeks. With both boys I was back to work within a week and a half. Fortunately I am blessed with a very supportive family and a husband that helped with midnight feedings, sick babies and everything else that comes with a family of 5.

Clearly my philosophies aren't for everyone, however we all deal with very similar balance issues no matter what our parenting and work styles are. My workweek can range from 45 hours to 70 hours, and with a family of 5 our lives can get quite hectic at times, especially with the pressure on families today. At this point I feel I may lose some of you who are reading this that may have differing opinions. But as a mother of 3 children I am a firm believer in education, no matter what their personal skills are. Our children are not rewarded for getting A's and B's in the classroom, it is expected. All sports are secondary in our house, we encourage art, music, culture and work. And we believe leading a healthy life is very important so we teach our children how to eat right and exercise. Not to say sports are discouraged in our household, but our children must maintain A's and B's in the classroom if they would like to participate in a sport. Since we spend a lot of hours at work, Sundays are more about being home as a family. On Sundays we will spend time together both outside in the yard and to prepare dinner for the evening, as well as preparing foods for the week. Like I said, we stress the importance of a healthy lifestyle and teach our children about eating right and exercise. For us it’s all about being active and trying to exercise as a family when possible, for example riding bikes. We strongly discourage any fast foods and stress the fresher the better. And while no one is perfect, it’s all about balance.

Part of that balance involves all of the technology available in today’s world, which can be challenging for families. Like with the sports, technology use is not discouraged in our household as long as your behavior remains positive and your technology use is balanced with other activities like exercise, reading and spending time outdoors. And while cell phones have become second nature, we don't advocate cell phones for our children until absolutely necessary. Phones, computers, and technology are considered a privilege in our home, and are received by following the rules and completing chores. We even made an acronym that helps us follow house rules: RULES FOR PRIVILEGES.
Respect
-Understanding
-Listen
-Expect nothing material-Silent when told
Friendly
-Obey
-Remember manners
Politeness
-Rest
-In tune to your surroundings
-Volunteer (don't wait to be asked)
-Initiate positive behavior-
Love
-Everyone accepts responsibility for themselves-Give help when needed

-End arguing
-Show gratitude

To go along with household disciplines, we don't use certain words within our household like “hate”, “stupid”, “idiot”, or any other word that you can't come back from. I teach my children to avoid the names and terms that are acceptable in our world today. I carry these same teachings with my dealership team as well.

While we do work a lot, we spend a lot of time together as a family while also making an effort to give our children individual attention as well. We even have them join us when hosting an event, whether it is a for-profit or non- profit event. Volunteering is encouraged as well in an effort to teach them that that we are only as good as our community is and what we put into it. We want them to be able to make good decisions on their own and this starts at a very young age. My husbands teases me now though because our children are very good at convincing us of their point of view when it comes to their privileges.

My mom taught me that the main job of being a good mother is to teach our children how to be independent and be responsible for themselves, even in their young adult years. As you can imagine, this can be a very difficult way to raise a child since as a mother, your natural tendency is to be there for them and take care of everything. However I have learned that it will create a healthier and happier relationship with my children in the long run, especially when they are out on their own.
At this point in my life, it’s obvious that both career and family are extremely high priorities, but I try my best to keep a balance. Balance for me is feeling accomplished in both family and career. To balance everything I have discussed while trying to be the best person that I can be, no matter what I choose to do. Importantly, I try not to judge others as I am a firm believer in you don't know what someone else is going through unless you walk in their shoes. My belief is to carry and conduct yourself in a way that you want to be treated. Don't judge anyone but yourself and only judge yourself if it is productive. I also believe you can't fully love anyone else unless you love yourself unconditionally which is especially hard for women in today’s world. Again, none of us are perfect, but I try to work everyday to love myself the way I am and work hard at being the person I want to be. I use my experiences and the way people treat me to determine who I surround myself with since relationships are very important in life at every level.

Overall, I am extremely proud of all of our children for several different reasons. One common reason among all 3 of them is that they push to be the best at whatever they put their mind to. Our life is far from perfect and we are going through the same behavior issues as many families, so some of this is tough to write because I can't always follow the rules and disciplines that we have set in place, which makes me feel a bit hypocritical, however when I really reflect on the past 25 years of work, life and family our base set of beliefs have allowed us to create a very well bonded family of 5 that I hope will continue flourish for a lifetime! As they say, nothing comes without hard work. It is an ongoing challenge.

In closing I am a mother and wife that loves her husband, children and family very much. I am blessed to have a solid career that I continue to enjoy and grow in. I work daily to achieve a healthy balance, teaching our children that we are a family and that means we love, respect and live as a family that is accountable for our actions. We are here to be each other’s support no matter what, with the belief that we should treat others the way we want to be treated, being loving and respectful to each other.

Happy Mothers Day!

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots

BAY CITY, Mich.- We saw the updated 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS and Z/28 at the New York Auto Show, but what about the rest of the lineup? The latest 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots give us a better idea of what to expect for the 1LE, ZL1, and RS models, revealing some updated and some current features.

The 2014 Chevy Camaro 1LE looks like it will keep its current blacked-out hood and matte-black rear spoiler, but will adopt some of the new features that debuted on the Camaro SS like the revised lower front fascia, hood vent, and slim grille. As far as power, we expect the 2014 Camaro 1LE to keep its 426 HP 6.2-liter V8 engine.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots

The 2014 Chevy Camaro ZL1, however, won't receive the updated front end since Chevrolet felt that changing the front fascia could have caused issues related to the packaging of its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine and would have required too much extra work to improve aerodynamics. But, the 2014 Camaro ZL1 will receive the new CHMSL lights above the license plate area and on top of the trunk lid.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots

Last but not least, the 2014 Camaro RS prototype loses the SS' hood vent but adds two more exhaust outlets, amping up the curb appeal with 4 exhaust outlets. Keeping the same bold five-spoke wheels, the RS fog light trim appears to be much more simpler that that on the more powerful models.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots

Chevrolet's muscle car lineup will be getting some updates for 2014 as we can see in the latest Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots! If you can't wait for the Camaro 1LE, ZL1, and RS to hit the streets, check out our 2013 Chevy Camaro Brochure, or stop by to take one for a spin at your Midland Area Chevrolet Dealer!
